Following on from ‘Elysian’, join Charlotte Aiken, assisted by Studio 18s Zac Walsh to discover the art of abstraction in a fun and relaxed environment.

Saturday 2nd 11am – 5pm Studio 18, Brimscombe

Workshop structure:

• 11-12 Intro and discussion into materials. Using colour, mark making and composition
• 12 -12.30 Discovering abstraction through visual and written prompts.
• 12.30 – 13.00 Lunch
• 13 -16.00 Creating your own abstract masterpiece
• 16.00 – 17.00 Relaxed group discussion and a glass of wine Materials:

Basic paints and paper will be provided. But please bring your own equipment and materials if you have them.

Purchase a canvas, or bring something recycled you wish to paint on! This could be wood, an old chair, a table…. Anything you like!

Create your own primed surface to paint on: 1. Find a surface e.g. wood 2. Use a white emulsion paint, paint an even layer over the surface.

3. Sand down if you wish to have a smoother surface.
